Jackson County Reserve Unit
The Sheriff's Reserve Unit was organized in the 1960's and are an integral part of the Sheriff's Office. The Reserve Unit, headed by Captain Cecil Wells functions to enhance operations of Sheriff's Office by providing additional deputies at no extra cost to the county. The reserves are a vital part of the office. There are 19 reserve deputies in the unit, all of whom volunteer their time. Each member serves at least one 12-hour shift per month.
Reserve Deputies work several events throughout the year such as the Jackson County Fair and assisting with the Goosepond 4th of July Fireworks celebration.
